RICHARD M. POLLOCK, DMD
Dr. Richard M. Pollock grew up in the Pittsburgh area and received his Bachelor of Arts at the University of Pittsburgh in 1984. He continued his education at Temple University and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine in 1988 from Temple University and he received his certificate of Endodontics from the University of Pennsylvania in 1990. Dr. Pollock has been on staff with Greater Washington Endodontics and Periodontics since 1995.
From 2001 – 2002 Dr. Pollock taught as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Pennsylvania. He has volunteered to work with Catholic Charities and has provided his dental expertise to assist those in need living in the in the Dominican Republic. Dr. Pollock is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, Northern Virginia Dental Association and the American Association of Endodontists.
When not volunteering, Dr. Pollock enjoys taking part in local community activities, he is a runner, and is a swimmer in the US Masters Program. Dr. Pollock enjoys sailing and is a supporter of the Boys and Girls Club of America and children’s Literacy Programs. Dr. Pollock has been a supporter of Genesis Service Dogs which raises and trains dogs to assist children and adults with special needs.
ARUNDHATI MISRA, DMD
Dr. Arundhati Misra Sauparn grew up in India and began her career as a dentist in India in 2007. She worked as an Assistant Professor and has also worked in private practice for a number of years before deciding upon entering New York University’s Advanced Specialty Training in Endodontics. Upon receiving her specialty degree in Endodontics Dr. Misra relocated to Northern VA and began working in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
Dr. Misra is passionate about what she does and believes in giving sensitive and quality care to her patients. She understands that root canal therapy is misunderstood by many and works to erase the myths about root canal therapy while placing her patients at ease about the need for such treatment.
Since her relocation from the northern New Jersey area Dr. Misra has been getting to know Northern VA and she and her husband recently purchased a home in Fairfax County near the Tyson’s area. She spends her leisure time with her husband and daughter and enjoys volunteering at her daughter’s school and traveling with her family
HASHIM ALHASANNY, DDS
After practicing dentistry for several years Dr. Alhassany returned to school and completed the Endodontics Specialty program at Columbia University in New York City. He is a world traveller and is fluent in Arabic, French and English. Dr. Alhassany has been involved in dentistry since 2004 and was also the lead doctor for Smile for Children from 2006 – 2008. While attending Columbia University he was also a part time faculty instructor. He enjoys working with people of all ages and has a special affinity for working with children and helping them with their dental needs.
Since joining Greater Washington Endodontics Dr. Alhassany has been working in our Reston and Burke offices. Upon moving back to Northern Virginia he and his wife are enjoying their new Reston community Dr. Alhassany is a volunteer for the Reston Town Center Community and plays in a local adult soccer league in Fairfax County.
To date Dr. Alhassany has authored and presented several topics about dental medicine and endodontics for the American Association of Endodontics (AAE) and has been a member of the AAE since 2012.
SURBHI PURI, DDS, CAGS
We are happy to inform our patients and referring dentists of our new Associate, Surbhi Puri. Dr. Puri is joining us from her work as a Clinical Professor at the Department of Endodontics at the UDM School of Dentistry in Detroit Michigan. She brings over 15 years of dental experience to our practice. During those years she worked as a general dentist and then later pursued a specialty degree in endodontics at the Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine at Boston University. She has conducted numerous seminars and lectures on clinical management and dental medicine and has received several Certificates of Honor for her practical and clinical skills.
Being new to the area Dr. Puri and her family are taking the time to tour all the different and unique places to see and enjoy with their young daughter in Northern Virginia. She and her husband look forward to settling down in Fairfax County and becoming part of the greater community. In the past she taught dental care programs to children with special needs and has a very caring and sensitive manner. We are very pleased Dr. Puri has joined our practice.
Archana N. Kasi, DMD
Dr. Archana N. Kasi graduated magna cum laude from The University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Biological Basis of Behavior. She then went on to the Harvard School of Dental Medicine to earn her DMD degree in 2012. Upon receiving her doctorate, Dr. Kasi completed her post-graduate residency program specializing in Endodontics from the University of California – San Francisco in 2015.
As a practicing endodontist, Dr. Kasi has been engaged in numerous community outreach programs. She has volunteered to provide dental care to patients in need through organizations such as Penn Smiles, Project Bridge, Harvard’s Windsor Clinic, and UCSF’s Community Dental Clinic. She was recognized by UCSF for her work in providing root canal treatment to homeless adults and youth throughout her 3 years of residency. In efforts to promote oral health awareness abroad, Dr. Kasi launched an ongoing International Twinning Project with the Lions Club organizing free dental check-ups and oral hygiene education programs in Bangalore, India for special needs children. She remains an active member of the American Association of Endodontists.
In her spare time, Dr. Kasi enjoys playing tennis, traveling and spending time with her husband and young son. She is excited to make Northern Virginia her home and plans to take advantage of the many community activities that this beautiful area has to offer!
